I'm thrilled to present these fantastic Sundowner Hikers with all leather uppers and Gore-Tex inner construction from Vasque USA. This particular pair were created in 1992- back when Vasque was still importing their products from Italian shoemakers, made in Italy. Full leather outers with full Waterproof Gore-Tex inners.Very little in terms of stains to the leather, none really- and they've been polished many times to be sure. Which is great care for your boots. Good on the original owner. There's a good bit of scoring, scratches, and abrasions to the leather hide, particularly the toes which are obviously the leading edge for many hikers. The heels stand straight and firm like Sundowners are supposed to. The sundowner has long been prized among outdoor enthusiasts and Park Rangers who appreciate the combination of ankle support and footbed comfort. Those are the original laces. Not much in the way of corrosion to the chrome vanadium steel speed hooks and eyelets. Oil and steel wool will clear that right up. The Skywalk® soles are holding up great with lots of tread for use during adventuring. The most notable wear, again, to the toes. The soles on any virtually boot can be rebuilt, and the Sundowner is no exception. Hikers who log a thousand miles on their Vasques have had this done by everyone from the local cobbler to online specialists. If you ever require guidance on who to go with, I'd gladly help you. I know people who have tied their Gore-Tex Vasques up tight and stood in a full bathtub to break them in- when they stepped out there wasn't a drop of water inside the boot. It's true. My 1995 Sundowners have been through California, Oregon, Washington, and Michigan and are still a joy to wear. I just put 12 miles on them hiking up North including bits of terrain changes where I was wading through a foot of water. As long as your laces are tied tight, water just doesn't pass through that Gore-Tex liner. Still amazed at what great companions they are 20 years later! Quintessential Thread Locker fare. The older, Italian-made Vasques are legendary among many hikers. Best retro-styled hiking boots combined with true outdoor pedigree I can think of. I'm hoping somebody who is small in stature but plans big weekends or better yet 7 days outta their week will see these and put them back out in the dirt where they belong. I know some folks who have resoled their Italian Sundowners and worn them for over 20 years. Sometimes I find the Chinese ones and I leave them there. These are the early to mid 1990s colorway of a dark salmon/light oxblood leather tongue and eyelets over a dark oxblood leather outer. I know they're 92s because Vasque would stamp the year on the inside. They're a rare Men's 7 1/2, rare because Vasque never made many of the half sizes. If you identify as female, you could get away with these at 8.5 or maybe 9. I took a full set of measurements and with an interior length of 9 3/4 inches, a male size 8 might work...but: An important note on these: You pair them with technical socks or wool blend. That means your foot after socked up is going to be bigger than it would a sneaker or other shoe- that's why 6.5 men's boots measure out at over 9 inches inside. Please keep this in mind when viewing my boots or any other. I took a full set of measurements for you to figure out how they'll fit your feet. These are unisex-styled boots, Vasque made the Sundowner for everyone. These were intended for women but honestly if they match up, either gender can enjoy these- if you look at the measurements they'd go either way. Measured inside the boot, from heel to toe (interior length) - 9 3/4 inchesMeasured across the sole of the boot (exterior length) - 11 inches Measured across the heel (bottom) - 3 3/4 inchesMeasured across the toepad (bottom) - 3 7/8 inchesAnd I've started another way of measuring that I never read in other sellers' listings, but I think is very noteworthy: The length of the arc of the toepad, which in my estimation is where the fit is either or make or break. This is where your toes either have the room they need, or are squeezed into discomfort. This measurement is 6 1/4 inches around. Picture the upper of the shoe around, from where it meets the outsole on either side. (Where ski bindings would go!) Measured with a tailor's tape.I'll ship these anywhere in the world and I will refund any shipping overages. Overseas buyers, Please read :I'm fast approaching 400 sales on etsy and at around item 25, I raised my shipping quotes. Due solely to shipping packages overseas and paying 200% or 300% more at the time of shipping. Sometimes it effectively nullified any profit, so I changed my estimates. Even as recently as September 2016 I got caught out again by incredibly high shipping, twice what I estimated- so if the estimates seem high, it's only initially- you have my word I will refund you any overages- you pay what I pay to get it to your door. I have sterling feedback and I take real pride in owning and operating The Thread Locker.I love my overseas patrons, and love to find things for people across the globe. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me- I love to answer questions and always have time for you.Lastly, you are guaranteed satisfaction. If you decide this ain't for you, Send it back in the condition I shipped them out to you, and I'll refund your purchase price and original shipping. Thanks for looking and I hope you're having a fantastic Summer 2016. - Skylar Woodman, The Thread Locker
